Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0

Author : Ms. Charu Chhabra, Assistant Professor, AAFT School of Data Science

Industry 4.0 and Artificial intelligence are the keywords that are on the top of any list of the most often used words in today’s era. The emphasis of the leading technology of artificial intelligence in all industries hype is on the art of industrial automation. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a multidisciplinary accumulation of different disciplines for instance computer science, programming, mathematics and statistics, biology, mechanics, psychology to generate intelligent agents which can sense the environment around, perceive and enact accordingly. AI works on intelligent systems which works on effective decision making systems.

Artificial Intelligence is an umbrella terminology that contains snippets from multiple disciplines in real life today. This is a cusp of computer science, biology, psychology, mechanics many more. Machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, Natural Language Processing, and computer vision there are many extensions to it. Artificial intelligence has changed the way businesses earlier used to function owing to the human-computer
interaction. Intelligent agents and workstations have given a rise to industry 4.0, which is characterized by cloud-based interactions between humans and cyber-physical systems.
Intelligent factories accommodate the acquired structures and digital functionalities that enable machinery to connect with one another and with the factory’s overall systems via an IoT setup. Machine learning has enabled predictive analysis and precision analysis to work out with efficacy in the leading industries. Indeed, revolutionary techniques have emerged as the most escalating technology in the corporate world, with the potential to revolutionize management and company processes.
However, in the AI Revolution, languages can be a barrier in different platforms, regions, and other global spectrums but Natural language processing has eased this concern to thebest possible practice.
Natural language processing (NLP) is an AI technology that uses computational linguistics to provide parsing and semantic interpretation of the human-language text.
NLP makes the systems learn, perceive, perform certain analysis and exhibit human cognitive behavior using natural language with exceptional precision, whether the AI system accepts audio and transforms it into text or takes text directly from a chatbot, for example. It recognizes sentiment, dialects, intonations, and more.
The fourth industrial revolution has led to an entire transformation of many industries. Be it, in medicine, healthcare, automated manufacturing, production, animation, Commercial platforms, retail sector, education, and many others to the point.
Using machine learning the predictive analytics is exhibited which works on multidimensional analysis of the data and its modeling. Deep learning lays emphasis on the neural network which works immensely on image-based data and its association to computer vision.
The impact of the digital revolutions on almost every element and industry in our socialeconomic platforms is undeniable. However, it has been observed this impact has led to an uprise in several different industries by generating employment, clinical decision-making systems, and automated working functionalities, this is expected to be increasing the global competitiveness among businesses.
